Social Contributions

We don't just focus on providing safe and secure homes, we want our residents to feel connected and happy. And research has shown that volunteering and giving back to the community can give you a deep sense of purpose. That's why we encourage and are immensely proud of, the ways our residents and staff actively volunteer and raise funds for charities of their choice.

Backpacks 4 Vic Kids is focused on providing essential items to kids who are placed in out-of-home care, with no time to pack the things they need.

Our residents collect and make items to donate, and our care teams pack the backpacks and deliver them to Backpacks 4 Vic Kids. They do this every month, collecting items from toothbrushes and clothes to coloring books and toys.

The Chelsea Church of Christ operates the Open Pantry program. Every week, the volunteers there put 100 breakfasts for disadvantaged people in the community.

Our residents and care team collect groceries and deliver them once a month. Our compassionate residents also create craft goods to sell at market stalls for fundraising extra money for the Open Pantry program.

Newlands Community House and Brunswick Neighbourhood House both provide a friendly and welcoming place for locals to make new friends, gain new skills, and share ideas.

Our residents provide vegetables and help prepare food for the community lunches. Once lunch is served, our residents enjoy a meal and good conversation with those in attendance.

St Michael's Parish in Oakleigh hosts a soup kitchen for disadvantaged people in the community. Our residents prepare food and share meals with those who visit the soup kitchen. They also fundraise wherever possible, and donate all proceeds to the initiative.

Our residents donate their time and energy to not just one charity, but three! Lifeline Gippsland offers crisis support and suicide prevention programs for those at risk in the community. Our residents raise money and sort items to donate to the charity's op shop.

We also make and sell dog biscuits to raise money for Forever Friends, an animal rescue shelter in Pakenham. Lastly, we support interchange programs for young adults with disabilities. These programs are designed to help with socializing, cooking, and include spending time with our residents.

From providing emergency relief for disadvantaged people and providing loans to connecting kids with sports and recreational activities, the Knox Info link supports the local community.

Our residents knit items to sell in market stalls, and collect toiletries and food items to donate to the charity. We also participate in the yearly Christmas drive.
