How do I get an internship with AECOM?

Answer: Getting an internship with AECOM requires largely the same requirements and advice as getting into the graduate program.

The most important tips are to:

• Come along to our events, meet our representatives and make connections.
• Understand our business and all the different areas we work in - it's quite complex.
• Make sure you understand which areas interest you and why
• Make sure your values align with ours

When do our internships happen?

Most of our internship opportunities are for the summer vacation period. Typically students join us from the end of November to the end of February, but we do have a bit of flexibility to accommodate specific requests from students.

Applications for AECOM's internship opportunities generally open in late June and close in late July. This year (2022), they're are open from the 23rd of June to the 23rd of July 2022.

Can I keep working with AECOM after my internship?

Once you've had your placement or internship with AECOM, there are often opportunities to continue working with us throughout the semester on part-time basis. This is another great way to keep building up your experience and secure a graduate position with us.

Am I confined to working in one area at AECOM?

No. Just because you apply to one area, you will still have opportunities to work in multi-disciplinary teams, meaning you'll get to see what other teams do and this will help you navigate your own career.
