Sydney Children's Hospitals Network offers a collegial Network GradStart program at Sydney Children's Hospital Randwick, and The Children's Hospital at Westmead. The goal of the GradStart program is to encourage participants to apply theoretical knowledge to clinical practice, while transitioning to the role of the Registered Nurse in a specialist paediatric hospital. The program will enable participants to provide family-centred care to children and their families, while developing advanced critical thinking and communication skills.
All positions for the 2022 GradStart program must be made via the NSW Ministry of Health. Interviews will be held onsite at each campus the week commencing the 23rd August 2021.
Participants are encouraged to foster a attitude towards life-long learning, developing advanced critical thinking and problem solving skills throughout the first year program and into their professional nursing careers. Sydney Children's Hospitals Network offers GradStart participants the opportunity to undertake their Honours program while continuing to complete the supported GradStart program.
