Tell us about your PageGroup career so far

I joined PageGroup in Melbourne as part of their Graduate Program early in 2021 after concluding my university studies in 2020. Having double-majored in Marketing and Management I was open to both career paths and wasn’t entirely sure which one to pursue. What appealed to me about PageGroup was the structured training and development programme and prospects to develop professionally in a large multinational. Since joining, this experience has been above and beyond my expectations and I couldn’t be happier with my decision.

In my first six months, I was exposed to my market through a series of group workshops, online coursework modules, shadowing sessions, one-to-one trainings and introductions to clients where I started working on real assignments. After successfully working through the six-month training plan, I was rewarded my first promotion!

Since then, I have grown my client base significantly, been exposed to the more challenging facets of the role and personally gained so much confidence.

Aside from the work itself, the team culture here has been incredible, and I’ve already made so many lifelong friends.

How do you spend your time at work?

No one day feels the same but broadly my week will be focused on networking and connecting with a range of new and existing candidates and clients.  This will involve meeting either in person or via video conferencing with clients to discuss their hiring needs and conversely meeting with candidates to gain a comprehensive understanding of their job preferences.

Other aspects of the role will involve posting adverts, sourcing new talent for your pipelines, market mapping, team trainings, and national workshops. It’s the dynamic nature of the role and the amazing people I work alongside that makes every day enjoyable.

What advice do you have for others who want to join PageGroup?

My advice to anyone who is in a similar situation to myself post-graduation is to absolutely look into a career with PageGroup. I believe it is a great starting point to gain exposure to a corporate environment and the professional skills you will gain here are priceless. As a bonus you will be surrounded by incredible individuals that will support and encourage your growth and opportunities to either manage or work overseas are endless.
