Caitlin

We have a weekly meeting with our team and a fortnightly meeting with our broader team to give updates on what we are working on. This also gives everyone the opportunity to flag if they are having issues with something or if they will need more help.

6.20 AM

My alarm goes off and it is time for coffee. I get ready for work and run out the door

8.00 AM

I arrive at work and park next to one of my colleagues who always arrives before I do. I set up my desk and chat with those in the office about how their weekend or evening was

8.10 AM

I check my calendar to see what meetings I have on for the day. I check my emails to make sure there is nothing urgent to attend to that I am not already aware of, and then start working through my to do list for the day

9.00 AM

My line manager arrives. She is always so happy. I normally give her a quick update on anything that has come up that she needs to know about, or I pre-warn her about the amount of emails that she will get from me that day

10.00 AM

Coffee time! My colleague, someone from another team and I always go for coffee when we are in the office together. We go so often that the barista knows our orders

10.30 AM

Time to focus. I normally try to work through my biggest tasks first while I have caffeine running through my veins

11.30 AM

We have a weekly meeting with our team and a fortnightly meeting with our broader team to give updates on what we are working on. This also gives everyone the opportunity to flag if they are having issues with something or if they will need more help. I always like to put my hand up to assist my team members with tasks as it is outside the scope of work that I normally do

1.00 PM

Lunch time! If the weather is nice, my colleague and I

will go for a walk. We always say we will bring sneakers and go on long walks at lunch – it has not happened yet

3.00 PM

Normally around this time, I have a check in with my line manager. She makes sure that I have enough work or that I am not too overloaded. She also checks in on how I am going personally too which is always nice

5.00 PM

I have a quick look at when my first meeting is for the next day. I also send out any emails that I have to before I log off for the day

6.15 PM

I arrive home. I get into some comfy clothes and start to cook dinner

8.00 PM

I am doing additional study part-time so I do any assignments that I may have due.

11.30 PM

Time for sleep!

Goals for your future at BAE:

I would like the opportunity to work overseas at some point in my career with BAE. I also want to eventually run my own commercial team, and give them the supportive environment to learn and grow that I currently have.
