This is your opportunity to join a dynamic, people-focussed organisation that offers great lifestyle and opportunities you wonโ€™t find anywhere else, all whilst having your remaining study sponsored, earning a salary as you complete your degree and having a guaranteed job following graduation.ย

Your roleย ย

As an Electronics Engineer in the Air Force, youโ€™ll play an integral role supervising the maintenance of state-of-the-art aircraft, managing airborne power systems, avionics, sonar, radar and communication systems.ย

There are two streams to the Electronics Engineer role, Aviation or Networks, and your day-to-day work will vary depending on which stream you are in. This advertisement is for the Networks stream.ย ย

In the Networks stream, youโ€™ll primarily work on IT & network equipment that helps the Air Force stay connected within the organisation, and to others. Itโ€™s your duty to ensure every aircraft in the sky and all the personnel and equipment on the ground can communicate regardless of location.ย ย

On top of this, as an Air Force Officer youโ€™ll be trained to become an inspirational leader and mentor; adept at effectively communicating with and managing teams, with a comprehensive knowledge of Air Force attitudes, values and military protocols and procedures.ย

Salaryย

This is your opportunity to be paid a competitive salary as you study at the university of your choice. Not to mention, youโ€™ll receive other benefits like rental allowance, textbook reimbursement and assistance with your HELP fees.ย

Upon commencing the program, your salary will be between $35,326 - $54,166 plus 16.4% superannuation depending on the completion status of your course.ย ย

On completion of your degree and initial training, you could earn $90,629 per annum plus 16.4% superannuation.ย

Locationย

Upon completion of your training in Victoria and New South Wales, you may be posted to one of the major Air Force bases around Australia such as RAAF Base Amberley, RAAF Base Williamtown or RAAF Base Edinburgh.ย ย

Life in the Air Forceย

When you join the Air Force, youโ€™ll benefit from our investment in your professional growth and development, enjoy great work/life balance, a supportive team environment and extensive benefits โ€“ from free healthcare to excellent fitness facilities. Plus, thereโ€™s the potential for overseas travel.ย

In addition, there are the meaningful experiences that come with serving your country. From participating in Air Force exercises and operations to providing support to communities in need, this is your opportunity to take on a career with many rewarding dimensions.ย

Apply Nowย ย

To be eligible to apply for an Air Force undergraduate sponsorship, you must be an Australian citizen, over 17 at the time of enlistment and have been accepted into a university offering an eligible Engineering degree in one of the following specialisations: Avionics, Communications/Telecommunications, Computer Engineering/Computer Systems, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Software, Robotics, Instrumentation, control and automation, or Biomedical. Note that degree requirements vary depending on which stream you apply for.ย

You must also be able to obtain a security clearance and meet the minimum medical and fitness requirements. More information is available here -ย https://airforce.defencejobs.gov.au/joining/can-I-join/eligibility-check
